Flammability Classification:

 

       HMIS Rating = 1, Flash Point Greater Than 400 Degrees F

 

       NFPA Rating = 1

 

Extinguishing Media:

 

       Water stream, spray, or fog.   Dry chemicals or foam.

 

Fire Hazards:

 

       If ignified, this product will burn and consume oxygen.  This product may

       produce irritating and toxic by-products during combustion.  Self contained

       breathing apparatus must be donned when fighting a latex foam fire.

 
   

SECTION V:  HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

 

The primary health concern of latex foam is the inhalation of fumes that may be

generated during combustion.

 
   

Latex Foam products contain synthetic rubbers and/or natural rubber, and

accelerators that may cause allergic reactions in some individuals.

 
   

Some Latex cosmetic foams do not contain natural latex, but are made in the same

Hazardous Polymerization:  Will not occur.

 

Conditions to Avoid: 

 

        Avoid extreme heat sources such as open flames, sparks, welding torches,

SECTION VII:  ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PROCEDURES

 

Waste Disposal Method:

 

Waste latex foam is not hazardous waste as defined by the Resource Conservation

and Recovery Act.

 
   

Latex foam is suitable for disposal via municipal landfill or incineration in most

states and municipalities.  Consult local regulations before disposing of latex foam.

If latex foam is warehoused or otherwise stored, proper sprinkler coverage

should be maintained.  Consult your local Fire Marshall or insurance carrier

regarding proper sprinkler coverage for the storage of latex foam.
